How Do You Prevent Surfaces Reaching Dew Point?

Condensation forms when a surface temperature falls below the dew point — the temperature at which moisture in the air condenses onto that surface. To prevent surfaces reaching dew point, you need to raise the surface temperature above the dew point of the surrounding air.

There are two ways to do this: reduce the humidity (and therefore lower the dew point), or raise the surface temperature. In practice, both are used together — ventilation and moisture-source control manage the humidity, while a thermal layer on the cold surface raises its temperature.
